Source: The New York Times reports that Robert Greenwald confronted Wal-Mart consultant John Marino, at the New York launch of Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price on 1 November 2005. The Guardian notes that Greenwald's film distributor is contemplating suing Wal-Mart for piracy.

200,000 Missouri employees have filed a class action suit against Wal-Mart over its unauthorized removal of rest and meal breaks from pay cycles. In retaliation at the negative publicity, BusinessWeek reveals that Wal-Mart is sponsoring an academic conference to examine the conglomerate's economic impact on businesses and communities.

Salon's Andrew O'Hehir surmises: "We didn't know about any of this alleged bad stuff, Wal-Mart insists -- and that happy little yellow Low-Pricey Man throws his gloved hands in the air and does his best impression of a frown. But as you watch Greenwald's movie that response becomes more and more incredible; what the chain's execs presumably didn't know about their global quest to drive costs, wages and prices ever downward dwarfs the already galactic scale of what George W. Bush and Dick Cheney presumably didn't know about Iraq."

Everyone has many personality labels yet most of us resist being labeled. I'm sure that we each have hundreds of labels because each person is very complex. The main way that we learn our labels is from others. We generally resist these learnings as it feels that the labels have a negative connotation.

Yet most labels can be positive and negative at the same time. While counseling others for several years, I realized that we each love to learn about ourselves if the information comes from a place of love and acceptance. But we pretend that we don't want to know. It is the same maneuver we use to view a group picture that includes us. While oohing and aahing over all the other group members, we are secretly gazing at ourselves.

I also knew that many of the labels used by counselors are unknown to most persons who never attend therapy. So I used these groups of labels and developed a short test that anyone can take because I give you the "answers". I will also include a bibliography of books for reference for each of the parts of the test. Therefore anyone can read and discover what their own personal labels mean.

The Changemaker Test Complete Package, a 84 page ebook, includes the test, test answers, a page explanation for each of all the labels, two newer personality measures, a bibliography for the test answers, and recommended websites for included subjects.

This prospect is welcomed by some, but causes a great deal of anxiety in many people: Are there enhancements whose benefits would come at the price of our humanity?

'The President's Council on Bioethics worries that people who choose to use biotech enhancements would somehow lose themselves: The Council's report "Beyond Therapy" warns "we risk 'turning into someone else,' confounding the identity we have acquired through natural gift cultivated by genuinely lived experiences, alone and with others." Liberal bioethicist George Annas from Boston University is pushing for a global treaty that would ban all inheritable modifications to any person's genetic makeup. He favors such a treaty because he believes that "species-altering genetic engineering [is] a potential weapon of mass destruction, and [that] makes the unaccountable genetic engineer a potential bioterrorist."' Source: 'In a recent New York Observer column, Richard Brookhiser argues that if George W. Bush "is now a lame duck, it is by his own hand." Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina, says Brookhiser, was doubly disastrous. First (and most important), people died and anarchy was loosed because Bush acted slowly and had surrounded himself with incompetents. Second, as in the immediate aftershock of the 9/11 attacks, Bush failed to provide the proper symbolic rhetoric that is part of the job: "If you can't speak, act," Brookhiser wrote. "Gesture is also a form of speech. Go to your desk. The news will show the chopper landing on the White House lawn. Look serious."

'Given that he's a Republican stalwart, a longtime senior editor at National Review, and the Observer's token conservative columnist, you can forgive Brookhiser for fretting over the electoral ramifications from Bush's metamorphosis into a lame duck.' (Reason article).

“You see, I believe we can get past this thing called alcoholism and addiction. We can get past it by taking advantage of every opportunity for abstaining that we encounter. For most people that includes a period of time in a 12 Step Program. If it's not AA right off the bat, almost ALL Treatment Centers refer clients to the 12 step programs anyway. So if you haven't done it already, go ahead, bite the bullet and put a little time into AA.

One thing you'll learn there is what Not to do if you really want to stop drinking. You will have many, many opportunities to study people as they stumble through the obstacles they place before themselves on the way to sober living. There are tricks to not falling prey to self-destruction while learning to not drink, and it's less painful to learn those lessons second hand. I learned a lot of them there.

The bottom line for everyone is that if you really want to get sober, you will get sober. It doesn't matter what your gig is, it could be the fishing cure, church, a hot new babe, 12 steps, or plain hard assed self-preservation. When the nickel drops and you know what you need to do to get the job done,,,, go ahead and do it. And do it like you never did anything before, because getting sober takes all the passion you'll ever have. Staying sober, it gets a lot easier after the first 10 or 15 years.”

The 51-year-old resident of North Carolina says a common drug called Zetia would help her fight the cholesterol clogging her arteries.
